Los Doyers contra Los Cerveceros

Los Doyers is a common nickname for the Los Angeles Dodgers used by Latinos because some Dodger fans’s parents pronounced it that way.   It has caught on on t-shirts but it does not sell at the stadium.
http://eleveightla.com/pops/doyers_b.aspxI bought two of these shirts last week in downtown Los Angeles.
Los Cerveceros  Brewers took the first game when Kershaw was a little on the wild side (he walked six).  Dodgers trailed 6-1 in the six but made it preety interesting in the 9th but lost 6-5.  They did outscore outhit (thanks Martinez!) the opposition (what else is new) 11-8.
The second game, well that was a different story.  Brewer Giovanni Gallardo faced Hiroki Kuroda on Korean night at Dodger Stadium.   Dodgers scored 2 touchdowns and a field goal to the Brewers 4 points…err I mean runs.
Hit by a pitch:  Manny Ramirez (by Smith, C), Juan Pierre (by Swindle), Catalanotto (by Kuroda), Prince Fielder (by Mota) And yes, Guillermo Mota was ejected from the game right away.  As Mota walked off the field, Prince Fielder eyed him like he wanted to follow him.   After the game, it was reported Fielder was banging on the door to the Dodgers clubhouse.   One Dodger fan reported that Fielder did not make it inside the clubhouse because he could not fit thru the door.
Attendance 45,535 (no giveaway).  The Spanish broadcasters (Jaime Jarrin, Pepe Yniquez and Fernando Valenzuela) have a year around bet between them to guess the attendance.  The “losers” pays $5 each and at the end of the season the money is donated to charity.
Rubber game.  The fun continues tonight with Jason Schmidt (2-1)against Looper(9-5).  Oh, is Manny Ramirez poster night.   I will be using the company’s seats in the field level by the visiting dugout. I hope all the boys behave.  I don’t want to see any HBP tonight.

That is the thing that being such a multi-culture city, there is a big population of Koreans, Japanese, Chinese and especially hispanics. I don’t know how long it has been around but there is an annual “Viva Los Dodgers” festival that draws not only hispanics but ALL Dodger fans. The person that told me last year where to get the “Los Doyers” t-shirt is Caucasian. He is tall, blue eyes that likes to wear cowboy boots. Last year at the festival he was sporting a “Los Doyers” shirt. Come to think of it, I have not seen him lately. I remember in one of these events, Jose Lima performed. He is a pretty good singer and dancer.

CRAZY week for the Dodgers…girl we have had interesting things happening at Dodgers Stadium this past two nights. The GREEN MAN on Monday and then the man running on the field on Tuesday… players getting hit by ball…but hey FULL MOON happening on Thurday…it drives people nuts. And guess who is probable pitcher on FULL MOON THURSDAY….aaaaaahooooooooo…WOLF!

  3. crzblue2

That is right! Wolfie goes against D.Lowe! ohoh, full moon. That should be good luck for Wolf. We got to get even against D.Lowe. Let’s see what tonight brings with Schmidt on the mound.

That sure was a wild game. Dodgers batted around in one inning so I had to use an extra column to keep score. I thought it was funny that guy came out with that line for Fielder. four HBP. i am sure suspensions/fines will be coming. Let’s see what tonight brings.
I am back in the saddle again….. lol.

Emma: Another photo with Ethier? Come on! How many more are there?! All I want is one! Actually, to be honest, if I had the chance to see him a lot like you, I totally would! After Pettitte’s start last night, I decided to rid him of his “bad luck” name. I remember when Randy Wolf was really good with the Phillies. But I’m sure his bad luck streak will end, since Pettitte’s did. Saturday really sounds cool. I wish I could be there. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know how it goes. I wish your Dodgers luck against the Braves! Hope my Yanks have luck against the Sox this week…I’ll talk to you later! -Virginia

It will be a full moon on Thursday with the Wolf on the mound against D.Lowe.
Can’t wait till Saturday. Last year I directed my question/comment to Don Mattingly durig the luncheon. This year it will be Torre or James Loney.

I loved being there for last night’s game. But how is it possible, you said on Monday they outscored the opposition, but lost. If you outscore the opposition then you win.

    Hey Ginny,
Yep, believe it! Wolfie on the mound with a full moon and I know Vin Scully will make reference to that! There are some fans that sport the Wolf mask like they did in Philadelphia.

I have a few pictures of Ethier. Some with uni and some with regular clothes :-). Well, my friend Lore is the one with the most Dodgers pictures. I call her “Juana SooHoo ” in honor of our Dodger photographer Jon SooHoo who takes amazing pictures. “Juana” has some amazing pictures herself. She is learning from the best.
