2010 Road Trip: Camelback here I Come!

My first road trip of 2010 will be this Friday when my friends and I leave early Friday morning!   We will be back on Monday.

The Dodgers will open Friday against the White Sox.  Padilla will start followed by Ortiz and Haeger plus relief candidates Luis Ayala, Scott Dohmann and former White Sox Jon Link.

The White Sox are scheduled to counter with announced Opening Day starter Mark Buehrle, followed by Jeff Marquez, Scott Linebrink, J.J. Putz, Santo Luis and Freddie Dolsi.

Former Dodger Juan Pierre is among the new White Sox.  A name that I had forgotten that is now a White Sox is Andruw Jones.

I can’t wait!!!!!!   I was checking the weather report in Glendale and they are predicting rain for Sunday but who cares!  We get to see our boys in Blue! and guess what?  Sandy Koufax is there!!  Whoohoo!

This time we know where they have those cameras on the freeway so we are prepared!

Congratulations to Jeff Weaver  who became a dad last Wednesday.  Son Drake weight in 8 pounds.  Congrats to the Weaver family including uncle Jered.

Luvthedodgers23:  Shall we look for Adrian Gonzales restaurant this time?

We lost another Brooklyn Dodger player.

Some of you might remember my post about Brooklyn Dodger Players Alive, well, I am sorry to report that we lost another one.

The second oldest living Brooklyn Dodger outfielder, George Cisar  passed away February 19, 2010 at the age of 99. Cisar played for the Dodgers in 1937, batting .207 in 20 games.

Now there are 62 living former Brooklyn Dodgers.

Rest in peace George

We well defintely look for the cameras this time! I read somewhere that a lot of drivers don’t even pay for the tickets. They don’t go on your record but I guess if they catch you next time is the slamer for you.

It is very nice! We were there last year. I did not get a chance to get a close up of Ozzie. I did of GM, he was sitting close to us when we sat in the club level or whatever that level is called.

Me alegro mucho leer tu email.

Francamente no he oido the 21/12/10 .
In the agenda is to go watch a game where the Cubs play in Tempe and also the Giants in Scottsdale. It should be fun!
Thanks Jenn! Jeff Weaver was very nice but then all players are extra nice during Spring Training.

    :* (
…another of Dem Bums got drafted to play on the great team in the sky. Time has no compassion.
Have an awesome time on your trip!!! Can’t wait to see the pics and read your post about it.

Yes Mike, Time has no compassion. That is why we have to make the most of our time. You remember what Sandy said Saturday night. “”Your most precious asset is time,” Koufax said. “Spend your money foolishly, spend your time wisely.”

I really don’t think the White Sox are going to have a good rotation this year, nor the Indians. But that’s the least of my worries.

I think that the Dodgers (Yes even with Padilla *sigh*) will in fact make it to the NLCS.

They have a great offense and Kemp just is amazing. If he has a good year for you so will the other guys.

And hey Koufax is there? Make sure you get a picture haha.

Also, there are only 62 living Dodgers? Wow. If I ever play in the majors, I don’t want to play for the Dodgers, (early death warrant). But just because of that.

    Great post Emma, have fun!

I am being optimistic about the Padilla signing but you know the Dodgers don’t have a number 1 pitcher hence Torre has announced who the Opening Day starter will be. Maybe it will go to 21 year old Kershar?
If I see Koufax, I will definitely take a picture!
And Ted, those are Dodgers that played for Brooklyn! I think is amazing that we have 61 still with us. The olderst living MLB player was a Brooklyn Dodger player at 100 years old! May they continue to have healthful lives.

    Yeah, Emma.

I don’t know if I like the idea of Andruw Jones even sharing the same minor league camp ground with the Dodger team. He may try to reminiss with a few of them after the game and make many unnecessary trips to McDonalds ..

Enjoy the trip! I’m doing something similiar here in Florida, finances permitting.
