Dodgers Win! Furcal Web Gem! I met Jane Heller!

When we were down 3-0 in the first inning, I was saying”Oh boy here we go again, having a bad first inning.”   but the boys came back and Kuroda-san settle down.   Kuo was NASTY!  Was that really a 98 MPH fastball he threw?!?!

The game ended with a great play by Furcal.  It was the #1 Webgem for Saturday:

Let me say this again,  “(insert team) suck” has to be the most immature, stupid chant I’ve ever heard.   You don’t hear it with the regular season ticket holders around me and I imagine with true Dodger fans and Baseball fans.    I also don’t boo great players.

On his birthday, Derek Jeter struckout three times.  Kuroda, Kuo and Broxton struck him out.  Joe Torre was quoted as saying “Well, it was my present to him”

Earlier in the day, Joe Torre and Derek Jeter had gone to the John Wooden public memorial at the the UCLA Pauley Pavilion.

Did  I say that Kuo has been NASTY lately.  This guy has gone thru so many T.J. operations and is basically an out away from ending his career but he keeps on pitching!   My Dodger hat off to you Kuo!

And my boy James Loney drove in four runs!  Here is Loney with my friend Erik who is celebrating his birthday today.  Happy birthday Erik!  May the Dodgers bring us a win!

I finally got to meet the famous Jane Heller!     Too bad I just spent a little time with her.   I also got to meet her husband and LadyJane who posts in  Jane Heller’s blog.   Wish I would have gotten a second chance to take the pic as this came out a little blurry and to spend more time with you and your husband Jane.

A battle of lefties for the rubber matchup today:  The tough Veteran Andy Pettitte against 22 year old Kershaw.   Kershaw needs to control those walks.  He has given up 48 walks, the most in the NL and the Yankees lead the Majors in OBP.

With Fox doing the game yesterday and today ESPN,  I MISS VIN SCULLY!

Oh I forgot to mention that after his running, Padilla came over to the rail in the left field side and signed alot for fans in that side then the center field side.   Quite a few Yankee fans were there too getting his autograph.  I and many congratulated him on his outing the day before.  He signed my scorebook.    I asked him in Spanish who he was rooting for in the World Cup after USA was already out.  He looked at me, smiled and said “Is going to be tough but I am rooting for Mexico.

Emma ~ When I first turned the game on it was 3-0 Yanks and I got so down. Thank God Burnett was pitching and we were able to beat him up and comeback and win. Also my son (who is a big Yankee fan) wasn’t home and I was able to scream to mt heart’s content when the Dodgers did something good with out worrying about his feelings. If we can only win tonight and take the series it will give me bragging rights at work tomorrow. Well enjoy the game tonight. GO DODGERS!!!!!

Thanks so much for helping me navigate my way around the stadium, Emma, and for that nice pic of me and Ladyjane! Your bums played a great game and beat our pants off. Looking forward to tonight’s contest, although I’m with you on Scully – would rather hear him than the ESPN duo.

You are so nice! Glad your son was not there!
You are so welcome Jane! Wish I could have helped more when you got in.
We will have Vin at San Francisco, God willing. He always says that you are better off telling God your plans.

Awesome, saw you on Janes blog, can’t believe how many people got together just from the blogs… and you got your b’day gift, maybe another one tonight…

    Hey Peter,
I got a win in actual birthday which was June 28th! that was sweet.
Come on over! Maybe next year we should have a MLBlog get together.
Don’t reminder of that nightmare in the 9th. I think Jonathan just had a tired arm. His fastball did not have the same speed as the night before. Just a tired bullpen with starters not going deep.
We got the first win at San Francisco!

Emma ~ Belated Happy Birthday! I’m glad they won on your birthday. Boy! that was a brutal loss Sunday against the Yanks. Enough has been said about it I don’t want to talk about it anymore. I’ll just say I didn’t get much sleep Sunday night.

I’m glad we started the Giants series with a win, the Dodgers really needed that one. I’m amazed at how well they play against the NL west. 19-5 so far, that’s what’s keeping us in the race. Let’s hope it continues.

come on over! Let me know next time you are here and want to go to a game.
Thanks Will! I kept thinking while driving home and I did not want to hear Dodger Talk. It was brutal. If we can beat those two SF and SD we’ll be OK. We swept San Diego this year.

I was hoping you would get a chance to meet Jane.
She is as charming in person as she is online, and hopefully she will not have to ever divorce the Yankees again…They would be the loser in that dealing.
Padilla is going for Mexico huh? You might have thought he might say Argentina or maybe Brazil, but it was great he kept the faith and is hoping for a Mexican fiesta.
I hope you made sure Jane got her first Dodger Dog….Best dog west of the Mississppi!

You are right, Jane is as charming online as she is in person. I was trying to find her she-fan book so she could sign it but two different places I went, they did not have it. I am going to have to get it online.
Padilla WAS going for Mexico. Now they are elminated. Her hubby was the one that got the dog.
don’t forget my offer to come watch a game. I’ll pick you up if you don’t have how to get there.
