Independence Day Fireworks at Dodger Stadium

John Ely did not have a good night.  He could not get out of the 3rd inning.  The good news was the bullpen.  Jeff Weaver and Belisario pitched scoreless innings.  The Dodgers made it close with Rafael Furcal extending his hitting streak by belting a two run homerun.   Final score Marlins 6, Dodgers 5.

Here are some pictures from the game:

I like this picture of father and son.  He is wearing a Bobby Welch jersey and the kid a Jackie Robinson.

Yeah, considering that in 2 2/3 innings, John Ely gave up 6 runs. But he will be OK. Young Ely is a favorite of mine. One of many of my favorites!

I love that picture of the fans on the field, that is really cool! We had some nice fireworks in Boston, but it would have been amazing to watch them from the Fenway outfield grass. Maybe someday…

the Welch jersey also has a 1981 patch! I want that jersey! Bobby used be a favorite of mine. I told my brother “Let’s jump the guy in the parking lot! He has a shirt underneath anyway.” 😉
Yeah fans like to go on the field. Prior to lights bein turned off you see fans playing catch there. Is nice.

Congrats on a great night! And posing by that awesome Mickey! I went to a soccer game that night, hoping for some fireworks, but the whole thing pretty much got rained out. Stunk. So I had to settle with watching explosions around the neighborhoods. Not as fun as what you did!!

Beautiful fireworks, and an unbelievable scene of a ballpark with the OF grass almost filled up with so many people!! I never imagined such a great number of people down on the field of a ballpark at one time. Mickey in Dodger blue looks just cute. Is this related to the All-Star Game held at Anaheim?

You and me Mimi! I seriously LOVE the Mickeys! I took pictures of the All-STar Mickey since it is at the Anaheim Convention where the FanFest will be.
Haha RFB. Wish the Dodger bats would have expoloded last night but Josh was unhitable. I hope he pitches that good at the All-Star.
Only during Fireworks can they go on the field and do that. People bring their blankets, practice tossing a baseball, kids run while they wait for the fireworks to start. YES Nao! The Mickeys are related to the All-Star. I’ll put pictures of the All-STar Mickey on my next post. I just been so busy.

You are so right. That is one cool Mickey.
Love how they did the Dodger name from the cap to his right ear…Disney and MLB made osme impressive mice for the All-Star game.
BTW, looks like I will not be facing anyone in the MLBlogger’s league in the Playoff.
Seems the divisional leaders will get those spots, not the four top teams by records. I have the fourth best record, and even top a Divisional leader, and will be in the Consolation Round….
    Could be worse….Could be raining.

    You are welcome Lil.
While the Marlins were in town, I was remembering how I snatched Mike Stanton before someone else got him. He was wondering how come it was not working when he claimed him but I had already snatched him :-).
They did a wonderful job with all the Mickeys! My Dodger hat off to the designers!
