Trivia: What Do These People Have in Common?

OK, this trivia is way out there but I was looking for some information then I was wondering  here and there..  ..

What do these people have in common?

Gregory Peck  Actor. Born in La Jolla, CA.  President Lyndon Johnson honored Peck with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1969 for his lifetime humanitarian efforts.

Lorne Greene.  Canadian actor.  Television roles include Bonanza.

Arnold Palmer.  World famous Golfer

Dr. William H. Pickering.  Scientist who headed Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) for 22 years.

E.L. Bob Barlett.  Alaska’s Territorial Delegate to Congress from 1945-59 and senator until 1968.

Earl Warren.  14th Chief Justice of the United States.  Born in Los Angeles.

This I don’t know so would appreciate some help.

I took this picture at Dodger Stadium.  It is hanging on the dining area of Vin Scully Press Box but it had no name tag.    Who is this Brooklyn Dodger in this picture that is attempting to knit?

Ooh, ooh, ooh Miss Emma, I know, I know, I know!!! 🙂 They all, um well, I’m not gonna say – yet. I’ll check back in in a couple of days and see if anyone else gets it. If no one has it by then, then I’ll post the answer on Sunday night. 🙂

Oh, and Emma, thx for your comment on ITD. I’m just so tired and frustrated and I think you’re the only person that got that from my post. Like I said on ITD before, I can’t put my finger on what exactly is bothering me. And maybe it’s just me, but it seems to me that ITD’s tone has dramatically changed over the last few years. I’m just not crazy about it.

They could have thrown the first pitch at Dodger Stadium but I don’t know.
Really you know the trivia!? Wow! I was reading the list of people that have done that and decided to make it a trivia. Is local and in some way relates back to the Dodger W.S. years. The black and white picture is a Dodger that was living in Ventura and died there. I know you put alot into that post in the ITD and I appreciated it.

I know Gregory Peck used to be a memeber of the Dodgers early ownership, and was a devote season ticketholder in the beginning, but for some reason I am going to guess these people are also on the “Hollywood Walk of Excellience”.
Whatever the answer, I know we will all be more than impressed that you had the answer the whole time.
You should be the Dodgers SABR prepresentative.

Sorry I cant contribute to the trivia. I think its safe to say they all seem a little before my time. However, I dig the sticking! Christmas is indeed my favorite time of the year and I love spreading the cheer and festivity. Pirates stockings run about 25 dollars and I do have a West Virginia one.

I don’t know about ownership but he used to go to games. Gregory Peck was a local boy. He was there at the Coliseum when the Dodgers opened up in 1958. i would not be surprised if most have a star in the Walk of Fame. Oh, you are not going to be impressed with this. Is just way out there but it ties with events around here 🙂
Way before your time except for one year. I got my Dodger Christmas stocking at Target for way less than that last year or the year before. And I would expect for you to have a West Virginia one.
I imagine some would have been interviewed by Vin. Oh, don’t remind me of the McCourts. The demise of each other is probably on their wish list.

Okay, I know I was going to post this Sunday night, but I just forgot. Sorry. But all of these people were Grand Marshal for the Rose Parade, huh?

  7. crzblue2

Excellent Carol! WOOHOOO! I need to send you something. Do you have a Dodger calendar that they gave away this year? If you do, I’ll think of another thing to give you.
Yes, they were all Grand Marshals for the Rose Parade in the year the Dodgers won the World Series. Gregory Peck the last one in 1988.
