Dodgers let one get away at Wrigley
I really thought the Dodgers had this Saturday game wrapped when the score was Dodgers 8, Cubs 5 but the bullpen let it get away when the Cubs scored five runs in the 8th. Final score: Cubs 10, Dodgers 8. LP: Guerier. WP: Jeff Samardzija (had to look how to spell that!)
Dodgers are now at 500 with 11 wins, 11 losses. Dodgers faired the same in the last homestand with 4 wins and 4 losses when they met with the Cardinals and Braves in a four game series with both teams. They lost the series with the Cardinals and won it against the Braves.
The last homestand saw the arrival of Jerry Sands, the minor league player of the year in 2010. Jerry got his first major league hit in his first game. We were all chanting “Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!” a la Jerry Springfield everytime he was coming to bat or he was recording an out at Left Fied. Jerry also got his first major league beanball (he ducked) off Tim Hudson.
I was one of the many Dodger fans that got interviewed at Dodger Stadium to give our opinion about Bug Selig taking over over seeing the Dodgers: Here is a link to the interview from KCAL channel 9 which is owned by CBS. You have to click on one of videos about fans being interviewed at the stadium
Kemp’s Walk-Off HR Beats Braves In 12
Friends on Facebook told me they saw this picture in the LA Times sport section online. I am taking a picture of Deuce with Jerry Sands.
Rubber game on this Easter Sunday is so far Dodgers 6, Cubs 2. No lead is enough with our bullpen so Go Kuroda-san! Go Dodgers! 21 game hitting streak for Andre Either!
Happy Easter Sunday!
Emma,
With the distractions this week and the uneven footing underneath the club, hitting the .500 mark is a victory in itself. But that is what good teams do, they win with their backs to the wall.
See, even the LA Times notices talent and made sure to have the photo proof of your great talent.
Great photo of Deuce. Maybe you should be his personal photog.

RR,
LOL! We are all Deuce’s photographers. I caught an MLB 2010 Fan video and Deuce is the first one they show dancing.
I love the photo! And I hope the Cubs don’t have to face Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier again anytime soon.

Ron,
Antytime soon!? Dodgers are facing the Cubs at Dodger Stadium next week. It includes a weekday game with the Dodgers wearing again the baby powder blue Brooklyn jerseys. The boys look so cute in those unis. The Indians were throwback uniforms also so I expect the Cubs will wear theirs too. The Boys of Summer look so cute in throwback unis 🙂
Andre Ethier is on fire! I should just pick him every day in Beat the Streak and be done with it. 🙂 That is a great photo. How neat to get in the papers.
Kristen
This is a very simple game…
Kristen,
You should have picked Andre Ethier! 23 game hitting streak and counting!
Ah, the bullpen. Can’t win with ’em, can’t win without ’em.
I enjoyed the video link. I really hope that Selig and MLB can right the ship.

Catherine,
Yeah, the ups and downs of a bullpen. We got Padilla in the bully now. I think and hope he works out in the bully, in the meantime, he got his first save yesterday.
.
Mike,
Not only the La Times Sport section but someone in FB told me, the picture was in Yahoo Sports. LOL. I can’t forget you amigo.
Sorry I have not upated my blog. There was a death in the family of a wonderful aunt that we will all miss dearly.

Virginia,
25 game hitting streak! Whatever he is eating, he better keep it up. I know he likes to eat tuna and peanut butter, not together but one after the other.
