Pictures from the 70’s night at Dodger Stadium
OK I barely had time today to post the pictures from the 70’s night at Dodger Stadium. Lots of pictures for lots of laughs.
Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams. He said “That looks like my hair in the 70’s.
The famous Roberto of Vinscullyismyhomeboy took this picture. Jon Soo Hoo had asked me to pose with his poster. I did not noticed I had buttoned the shirt wrong until an usher in the club level pointed it out to me!
Vin Scully will be at Fenway Park for one game!
Last night it was announced that Vin Scully will make the rare trip to Fenway Park for one game! He will broacast Friday night’s game! WOOHOO!!!
The last time the Dodgers went to Fenway Park, Vin also made the trip for one game. Here he is throwing out the first pitch at that game: yeah, that is Jaime McCourt in the background.
13 days till my friends and I take a red-eye to Boston!
in the meantime, we lost the first game with Kuroda on the mound. Today is Kershaw against Kawakami and is 70’s night wih cool 70’s poster giveway. See the picture of James Loney and Casey Blake as Starky and Hutch. That is 71 Chevelle! I had a boyfriend that restored a 70’s Red Chevelle
with the stripes
“Brady Bunch” actor Barry Williams will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America.
Thoughs and prayers to coach John Wooden. He went into the hospital yesterday. Hang in there coach! We love you!
Dodgers Sweep: A Balk-Off, A Walk-Off HR and a Walk-Off Single
Dodgers Sweep: A Balk-Off, A Walk-Off HR and a Walk-Off Single.
Even though the Dodgers swept Arizona, these wins could have gone either way. The Dodger pitching was there and timely hitting along with some help from the D’Backs.
5/31/10: The Balk-Off. Lopez piched well for the D’Backs but the defense let him down when Kelly Johnson committed two errors in one play that scored two runs. Then came the Balk from Vasquez causing the balk-off for the bearded one Casey Blake. Billingsley was lights out after the four homeruns he gave up in the first two innings. Final score: Dodgers 5, D’backs 4.
The guys in the dugout pointing out to the balk.
6/2/10. Ely vs. Haren. A great pitching dual that went 10 innings with Matt Kemp having his first walk-off! Jeff Weaver picked up the win and Gutierrez picked up the loss. Gutierrez is now 0-4. Gutierrez has allowed 10 homeruns in 18 1/3 innings. Final score: Dodgers 1, D’Backs 0.
The fourteen inning stretch!
6/3/10. A business special that started at noon. This one had ex-Dodger Edwin Jackson going against rule-5 Carlos Monasterios. It went 14 innings with rookie Travis Schlichting (I love the name!) pitching 4 scoreless innings and picking up the win! The kid also had his first MLB at bat. Valdez took the loss on a walk-off single by Garret Anderson. Final score: Dodgers 1, D’backs 0.
So the D’Backs have gone 31 innings without scoring a run. They lost all nine games on the road and lost 10 straight now. Ouch! The D’Backs starters pitched well, the bullpen is another story.
The red-hot Braves are in town for a four game series. Braves have won eight in a row, the Dodgers four in row. Remember April? These two teams were in last place with an identical record of 9-14.
I feel so bad for Armando Galarraga but the guy was classy, he kept his cool. In our hearts you pitched a perfect game Armando! I don’t know what did Jim Joyce see in that play but he apologized to Armando.
Countdown to trip to Fenway Park: 15 days! Woohoo!
Casey Blake, Derek Lowe, Eric Karros and Kirk Gibson.
What does Casey Blake, Derek Lowe, Eric Karros and Kirk Gibson have in common? The number 23!
Thank you to those that visit my blog! My mlb blog came in at #23 in the latest leaders for April!
Let’s start with Casey Blake who started the season without a beard but ever since he started growing it back, the hits kept coming! Casey Blake had three hits yesterday including a homerun. I am glad you finally got to break in theCase Blake “In Beard We Trust” t-shirt Greg!
Casey being congratulated by Torre, Aumus in the background.
Another one that were #23 was Derek Lowe. Derek wore #32 in Boston but since that number belongs to our beloved Sandy Koufax, Derek chose #23.
Erik Karros also wore #23 with the Blue
And everyone’s favorite! Kirk Gibson!! I have this Wheaties box. I wish you were our coach Gibby!
Ok, so now I am hungry for some wheaties.
From Marlins to Road Trip with a Baby to Cardinals
The Dodgers salvaged one game from the three game series with the Marlins and now we start a four game series with St. Louis.
Saturday night, our closer Jonathan Broxton picked up his 7th win! Broxton has the 3rd most wins in the Team! Casey Blake delivered a single in the 9th inning to give the Dodgers their 10th walkoff this year!!. The team had 8 last year
Sunday, Jason Schmidt did not fair well. an error by Furcal did not help and Weaver did not have it. I was so rooting for Schmidt to do better. I believe that Joe Torre will give Schmidt one more start and if he does not do well, that will be it for Schmidt.
Sunday when I got to my seat, there was a nice couple holding a baby and being interviewed by a local TV station next to my seats. I told them to stay there as I jumped over and gave them room for their interview. I was curious when I saw their baby girl with a pink bib and pink hat reading “30 ballparks and a baby.” Baby Sophia is so adorable!! as you can see in the picture below.
I missed getting Judy. Isn’t baby Sofia adorable?
Look at baby Sofia’s bracelets.
You can check their website at www.30ballparksandababy.com. Buena suerte Judy, Roberto and Sofia! It was a big pleasure meeting the three of you. God bless you and keep the three of you safe!
My Dodgers are at St Louis for a four game series. I was in St Louis a few years back when the Dodgers lost all four games BUT this is a much improved team so Go Dodgers!
I am going to check if any of my good friends that are big Cardinal fans in this picture are going to any of the games. I know Linda and I wish we were back in St Louis this week so that we can improve on that 0-4 record.
I just found out my friend Amy from ITD will be going to tomorrow’s game.
Let’s go Dodgers, Let’s go!!
The Chad going for #10 on Manny’s Bobblehead night!
Tonight is Manny’s bobblehead night and as expected the game was declared a sellout a few days back. With Manny being hit on the wrist by Homer Bailey last night, we are not sure if he will play. We were put at ease when it was announced at the stadium that the X-Rays were negative.
Chad Billingsley, chasing that illusive win #10 goes against Bronson Arroyo. . Good luck Billz!
Kiss-Cam and James Loney. Last Saturday when they were showing on the big screen couples kissing, they showed a young woman with a very colorful sign saying “Kiss Me Loney!”. James Loney was not playing that night so when he saw the sign from the dugout, he came out scanning the crowd for the sign and sent a kiss. Of all the Dodger players, I think Loney is the one that is quiet and shy, so it was funny seeing him do that. When he noticed the camera was showing him on the big screen, he smiled embarrased and went and he went back into the dugout laughing. It was funny!. Usually signs are not permitted at Dodger Stadium but every once in a while fans do sneak them in.
Juan Castro and his at bat music. Juan Castro started the other day for Orlando Hudson. When they played his at bat music, you could hear all around the stadium including my friend Lore and I with the typical yells like “AHUA” when hearing a good mariachi. The name of the song is “La Negra” or “Al Son de la Negra” here it is if you want to hear it. coudl not do the youtube.

Casey Blake…Is he Mejicano? When we started hearing the Mexican song “La Negra on Tuesday, my friend Lore and I looked at each other. She said “Is Casey Mexican?”. We even got a text from my brother Vic asking about it. My friend Lore answered “well, he is a Doyer.”.
.Bowling with James Loney and company; Thursday is a day off and is the annual Dodgers bowling event to benefit the Dream Foundation. It is about $850 per person so a little too steep for me, besides I should be on the D.L as i have a bum shoulder. Still I am heading to the game soon.
With the Marlins in town this weekend, the upcoming events are:
Friday night. A tribute to Elvis Night_ Fireworks.
Saturday night.. Hollywood Star Night. with that softball game starting at 5.
Sunday afternoon: Webkinz pet Giveaway for first 15K kids 14 and under.
Oh and a new giveaway has been announced for September 14 against the Pirates: Free Dodger dogs. Not the stuff animal but the ones you eat.
Let’s go Dodgers!!!
Chilling at the Ravine! I LOVE LA!
I know my friend Ash at http://ashleymarshall.mlblogs.com/ is not having as much fun as I am but I loved reading your recap of the past two games Ash! Thanks!!
What a wacky wild game Monday was! I don’t like to see so many errors in a game even if it is the opposing team but I am so glad we won! Kudos to Mark Loretta for noticing that Church missed the bag at third!. Wild and Wacky game! First you have the Mets winning 3 -2 only to have the final score be Dodgers 3, Mets 2. Good job to El Lobo (Wolf) even though he did not get the win. Another cheap win for the bullpen.
On Tuesday’s game Billingsley struggled in the first few innings with a high pitch count but then he showed why he has a record of 6-1 now. Gutsy performance for the pride of Defiance, OH. Oh and what about the bearded one Casey Blake with his 9th homerun? Not bad for your number 8th batter. On to game 3 today with Hernandez for the Mets against Jeff Weaver. Good Luck Weaver!
Today is Casey Blake bobblehead night. I heard that the BBH resembles him a lot. Stay Thirsty my fiends: From the name that was given to Casey Blake at Dodgers.cc. TMIMITW (the most interesting man in the world) because of his beard. Still having problems adding youtube so here is the link to TMIMITW

Stay thirsty my friends.
