Upcoming Dodger Road Trip & SABR Convention. I Can’t Wait!
Dodgers are on the road on a 10 day road trip. They split the first two games in Colorado. Today the game is at 12:10. Nathan Eovaldi goes against Alex White. Then is on to Philadelphia for a four game series. They finish the road trip with a three day weekend in Seattle and that is where I will be with Lorena & Rosie. We leave Thursday morning.
Here is Lorena & Rosie from our trip to San Diego. We are cheering on the nice Dodger start at Petco Park. See you at the airport ladies!
SABR 42Convention
I will also be going to the SABR convention in Minneapolis June 27 to June 30. I will be rooming with my friend Abby who I met last year at the SABR convention in Long Beach. After meeting Abby who is a Yankee fan and Kent who is a Red Sox fan, the three of us hang around together for the rest of the conference. Looking forward to seeing Abby, Kent and the rest of the SABR members attending.
I went last year to Minneapolis during the same days when the Dodgers played there. I spent my birthday there with Lorena, This year Abby and I will be celebrating our birthdays there.
I contacted SABR member Emily who I met last last year at the SABR convention in Long Beach. I also saw her at the SABR Fall League conference. She is a Mariner fan so I am hoping to see her at Safefo Field. Emily is the one with a soda drink. Her mom next to her. The lady in back has a teenage daughter that is so much into baseball & SABR.
I miss my boys in Blue. The last game at Dodger Stadium with the Brewers, I spent it in the Left Field Pavilion. I had a blast there with friends. Thanks Ernest for the ticket! Here is a picture that Jon SooHoo took a few days ago. Here is Deuce, brother Vic to the right of me and Ernest in the back. Deuce & Ernest sit in the LF pavilion.
Here is a group picture from the LF pavilion
Maybe in between Seattle & Minnesota I can sneak a quick trip to Oakland. Dodgers play there in the middle of the week middle of June.
In the meantime It’s Time for Dodger Baseball!
Dodgers defeat Lincecum again
It sure did not look like the Dodgers would defeat Lincecum on Wednesday May 9, with Billinsley's shaky start. But defeat they did. Dodgers trailing 2-0 came back with four runs in the fourth. Lincecum went five innings and Billinsley only four so Jamey Wright picked up the win.
Earlier during batting Deuce was playing catch with Jamey Wright.
Hey Jamey, you should always play catch with Deuce!
This was the day I was meeting Army veteran RJ R.J. Breisasher. The Dodgers had given us two tickets for the game. RJ underestimated the LA traffic so he was running late. We made it to our seats during the first inning. Here was our view from the seats:

Another picure of Lincecum facing Ethier.
Dodger dugout. One of the reactions from Scott Van Slyke’s major league hit.
Congratulations Scott Van Slyke on your major league hit!
There were three triples in the game. One by Dodger catcher AJ Ellis. I love watching triples! AJ also had an infield single! 🙂 What were the odds that a catcher would end up with a triple and an infield single? I love this game!
RJ Breisasher and I after the game.
We went back to the top deck after the game. Only the cleaning crew were there.
RJ, on behalf of the Dodgers and myself, thank you for serving our country.
Rachelle: Pleasure meeting you.
Tommy Lasorda giving hitting instructions at Spring Training
Here is a short video I shot of Tommy Lasorda dressed in his batting practice jersey giving instructions to the minor leaguers on how to hit. 🙂  “You got an ax in your hand” “you are chopping the tree down” “como esta la republica?” Â

Tommy is so funny

Dodgers let one get away at Wrigley
I really thought the Dodgers had this Saturday game wrapped when the score was Dodgers 8, Cubs 5 but the bullpen let it get away when the Cubs scored five runs in the 8th. Final score: Cubs 10, Dodgers 8. LP: Guerier. WP: Jeff Samardzija (had to look how to spell that!)
Dodgers are now at 500 with 11 wins, 11 losses. Dodgers faired the same in the last homestand with 4 wins and 4 losses when they met with the Cardinals and Braves in a four game series with both teams. They lost the series with the Cardinals and won it against the Braves.
The last homestand saw the arrival of Jerry Sands, the minor league player of the year in 2010. Jerry got his first major league hit in his first game. We were all chanting “Jer-ry! Jer-ry! Jer-ry!” a la Jerry Springfield everytime he was coming to bat or he was recording an out at Left Fied. Jerry also got his first major league beanball (he ducked) off Tim Hudson.
I was one of the many Dodger fans that got interviewed at Dodger Stadium to give our opinion about Bug Selig taking over over seeing the Dodgers: Here is a link to the interview from KCAL channel 9 which is owned by CBS. You have to click on one of videos about fans being interviewed at the stadium
Kemp’s Walk-Off HR Beats Braves In 12
Friends on Facebook told me they saw this picture in the LA Times sport section online. I am taking a picture of Deuce with Jerry Sands.
Rubber game on this Easter Sunday is so far Dodgers 6, Cubs 2. No lead is enough with our bullpen so Go Kuroda-san! Go Dodgers! 21 game hitting streak for Andre Either!
Happy Easter Sunday!
Don Mattingly, Deuce and more Dodger fans at the LA Kings Game for Dodger Pride Night
It was Dodger Pride Night at the LA Kings game at the Staple Center last night. No, I could not go, I had a doctor’s appointment at 6:p.m. but plenty of my friends went.
That is Dee at the end. She is the one that has Vin Scully’s picture tattoo. Way to represent guys!
Deuce was honorary team captain!!
What an awesome day for you Deuce!
Our rookie manager waves to the crowd prior to throwing dropping the ceremonial baseball puck
Sorry I missed it. After the doctor’s office I decided to go to Nordstrom Rack and you wont guess what happened to me. I was looking at the endless racks of shoes (they had a sale). Anyway, one of the ones I tried on, I walked with it, walked some more to see if I really liked it. I took it off then noticed I did not have my own shoe and I had forgotten where I left my black Ann Klein loafer. I looked and looked then I asked the sales lady that was arranging the shoes. She helped me look for it but neither of us could find it and it was closing time.
I left my name and description of the shoe and walked kind of limping with one shoe thinking “why does this happen to me?”
Let’s see if they call me tomorrow telling me they found my shoe.
On other news, I renewed my Dodger season tickets today. Today is the last day you could renew without the Dodgers releasing your seats.
pictures from Jon Soo Hoo and Deuce from his dad.
I miss my Dodger fan friends! See you soon at Dodger Stadium!
See you next Spring my Beloved Dodger Stadium
My Spring and Summer home is officially closed for the season but I’ll stop by a couple of times during the off-season to keep an eye on it.
This year’s Fan Appreciation was sadder saying goodbye to more friends that I made at the stadium and saying goodbye to
Joe Torre and Brad Ausmus. Good luck to two classy guys!
last pic by Jon Soo Hoo.
Friday and Saturday’s game Kirk Gibson was so nice signing alot of autographs. I got my baseball signed by him. I hope he is back as the D’Backs manager if not back in Dodger Blue! I can dream…
I’ll miss alot of people from the stadium including the batting practice group that includes Deuce, William (Deuce’s dad), Syliva, Dee, Cari, Kristin, Gordon, Pat, Norma, Rosa, Ronnie and of course my Top Deck Friends! that includes you Erik!
Deuce also signed my Dodger program where he was featured
And here is Deuce and Devon Ethier who was drafted by the Dodgers
good luck to everyone in the postseason. I am looking forward to watching some good baseball. Let’s go D.Lowe! Beat those Jints!
Let me know if anyone wants a Dodger Calendar. I have a couple of extras.
Deuce signing an autograph at Dodger Stadium
The only day I could go to batting practice in the last homestand at Dodger Stadium was Friday August 20th.
I was watching BP with Deuce, his dad and friends but before I left to go upstars I wanted to see friends Linda and Greg who had seats in the field level that day. I was about to take a walk looking for them when Greg found me instead!.
After Greg met Deuce, he said that Linda would love to meet Deuce so I went to get Linda and Greg stayed with their stuff.
Linda wanted a picture with Deuce. She started talking to him and said something like I wish I had something for you to augraph. Well, Deuce said “I could sign your hat.” Linda, who is a Phllie phan and a Dodger fan, took off her Phillie hat and handed it to Deuce.
Deuce starts with a pen…
The pen is not working
so someone hands Deuce a sharpie. In the meantime let’s take a picture.
OK, let’s take a look at the picture while Deuce finish signing….
OK Deuce, can I have my hat back? .
The hat with Deuce’s signature 🙂
You can watch videos of Deuce and Jameson at Dodger Stadium here:
Dodgers get swept in St Louis. Deuce, the Four year Dodger fan
The four year old Deuce sits in the Left Pavilion with his mom and dad. Late in the game, between innings, he comes down from his seat and dances. We love watching him dance and do his routine like he has a guitar on his little hands. He is often put on the big screen that now everyone including the players know him. He gets quite a round of applause.
Here is Deuce with Jeff Weaver in the background.
With Jeff Weaver in the background, I asked him how does Jeff smiles:
Here is Deuce showing his dancing moves:
Here is Deuce and I during BP prior to one of the games against the Yankees. This is the game Jane of Confessions of a she-Fan attended.
Deuce with Jeff Weaver in the back.
I found Deuce and his dad at the All-Star FanFest.
Dodgers got swept at St Louis. It reminded me of my last trip to ST Louis in 2006 when the Dodgers also got swept on a four game series. Padilla should have won that game. The bullpen just could not hold on to that win.
Here is Linda and I in 2006 representing the Blue in a sea of red.
Dodgers return home to play three games with the Giants and a four game series with the Mets! I hope they play better at home! James Loney Boblehead is Tuesday.
Volunteering at the FanFest and another win for the Dodgers
I chose the table at the end to wait for our assignment to volunteer and I just happened to sit next to my friend Linda! The volunteers around from left to right are fans of:
Dodgers, Mariners(but likes the Dodgers), Linda a Phillie and Dodger fan, Dodger fan (me!), Dodger fan and Angel fan at the end. Way to represent Dodger fans!
That is the only time you would catch me wearing red.
Linda and I are designated hitters so we waited where they would take us.
Our group was given the assignment to stuff the welcome bags in the back and to be a greeter handing out the bags. I was going to greet but when I went to the back room, I noticed they needed help stuffing so there I sat stuffing and stuffing and stuffing..
I had fun with the ladies but I had enough of stuffing.
I took a little break and stopped by to see Rollie Fingers
I put back my volunteer shirt when I spotted this cutout of Andre Ethier!
Then I was back to stufing bags.
At 5, I headed back on the 5 freeway to Blue Heaven on Earth! I got there 30 minutes before game time. The Dodgers rewarded me with a win. It should not have been that close but the score was Dodgers 9, Cubs 7.
Checkout Deuce! The famous “bailarin” little dancer at Dodger Stadium. Deuce is a riot! Here he is doing his dance routine. Everyone knows deuce, including the players.
Busy day today with photo day, game and then a softball charity game that I am thinking of attending at Pepperdine. It is being hosted by Steve Garvey. Lots of players and celebrities will be there.
Hey Ernie Banks was at Dodger Stadium yesterday! I missed taking a picture of him. Maybe he will be back today!
