Seeing all the fires going on here in Southern California, I have to give a shout to these heroes who expose their lives for our safety. Here are some pictures from the L.A. Times:
Can you imagine the intesity of the heat and having to carry all that gear?
Long night on the fire line
the fires have claimed two firefighters this week. This from the L.A.Times:
Two firefighters were killed when they drove off the side of a treacherous road in the Mt. Gleason area, south of Acton, around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, said Los Angeles County Deputy Fire Chief Mike Bryant. They were later identified as Arnaldo Quinones, 35, of Palmdale and Ted Hall, 47, of San Bernardino County.
“This accident is tragic,” Bryant said, choking up as he spoke Sunday evening. “This is a very difficult time for L.A. County Fire Department and the men and women that serve day in, day out.”
So far the fires have covered 85,000 acres. Our thoughts and prayers to all the firefighters.

I lost my original post as a result of having trouble with the computer so better late than never.
Hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day.
Thank you to all that have given the ultimate sacrifice and for those that are currently serving in the military. God bless you all! You are our true heroes !
I was wondering why all the red baseball hats then Vin explained it that all MLB teams were wearing. Then he recited a poem written by Moina Michael titled “We Shall Keep the Faith.” that was in reply to the poem “Flanders Fields.” We love you Vin Scully!
The second of three stanzas of this poem reads:
Two more days before I fly to Chicago for my first trip to Wrigley!!
Update on Manny: He is working out at Dodger Stadium while the team is away.
