I have never tried before to write haikus but I decided to read about them and attempt to write some so here are three

Dodgers record of sweeping and getting Swept

It was a beautiful night at Dodger Stadium with an almost full moon also taking in the game on Saturday.

Kershaw pitched  seven strong innings giving up one run on three hits.   Belisario pitched a perfect eighth and Kenley Jansen did the same in the nine to record his 21st save.   Matt Kemp hit his 16th homerun.

Final score Dodgers 3 Cubs 1.  Hard luck Volstad, who gave up two runs, took the loss.

Dodgers go for the sweep today when Joe Blanton makes his first start with the Dodgers.   Germano will start for the Cubs.

Welcome to the Dodgers Blanton!

With the Dodgers going for the sweep today at Dodger Stadium, I was thinking “how many sweeps have they been involved in?”

Dodgers have swept at Dodger Stadium four times (Pirates, Padres, Rockies & Cardinals).

Dodgers have been swept two times at Dodger Stadium (Brewers & D’Backs).

Dodgers have swept on the road three times (Phillies, Mets & Giants)

Dodgers have been swept on the road times two times (Giants & A’s)

So the totals are:  Sweeps = 7 , Swept = 4

Let’s make it five sweeps at Dodger Stadium for a total of eight sweeps overall.

Hurray for Our First Place Dodgers with a record of 30-13

This Dodger team is very excited to watch. Dodgers came from behind last night to win 8-7 with a different hero in Ivan De Jesus Jr. I started jumping up and down in my living room!

Ted Lilly goes to the mound tonight with his 5-0 record against Diamond-Backs Lefty Saunders. Dodgers going for the sweep

I saw the cover of Sports Illustrated with Magic and Kemp online

So I walked to the corner liquor store to see if they had the SI magazine.

me: Do you have any magazines?
Liquor Store owner: What are you looking for?
me: Sports Illustrated
Liquor Store owner: *grins* No.

I guess they only had other magazine behind the counter. No worries, I will stop at Vroman's bookstore in Pasadena on my way home.

Congratulations to the Los Angeles Kings! They are going to the STanley Cup finals! GO Dodgers! GO KIngs! I LOVE LA!

Tim Welke missed call, Matt Kemp NLPM, Weaver No-hitter, Dodgers New Owners

>><Tim Welke missed that call at Coor's Field by a mile, well at least by four feet. Take a look:

Congratulations Matt Kemp! April National League Player of the Month!

Prior to Jered Weaver pitching a no-hitter, I was thinking “what a bad day for pitchers” when Kershaw went 7/ 1/3 innings and gave up 5 earned runs. Halladay went 5 1/3 and gave up 8 earned runs. Harrison went 3 1/3 and gave up 8 runs & AJ Burnett went 2 2/3 innings and gave up 12 earned runs! WOW!

Congratulations Jered Weaver on your no-hitter. Jered is a local boy that grew up a Dodger fan and he was a Long Beach DirtBag.

Vin Scully said during yesterday’s Dodger new owners conference that the kids might describe yesterday’s weather as “yucky” but the Irish would say “Is a soft day” To me, t was a glorious day!

New Dodgers owners, the Guggenheim Baseball Management group, Left to right are Bobby Patton, Stan Kasten, Mark Walter, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Peter Guber and Todd Boehly

After work, I went home to watch the Dodgers owner conference that I DVRed then after I finished, I switched to the no-hitter when someone on Twitter alerted me, then I watched “Before the Bigs” with Mike Scioscia. I had started this blog post on 5/2 but did not finish it until today 5/3. So much happened in between. Watching Mike Scioscia in Before the Bigs, he had some great catchers to guide him in Roy Campanella, Roseboro & Del Crandall. He credits Del Crandall in pushing him to become a manager.

Dodgers are off today then start a series with the Cubs. Monday is back to Dodger Stadium to play with the Giants for the first time. I can’t wait! During the conference it was announced that parking went down from $15 to $10. Also to welcome communication with the fans, fan suggestions could be emailed to a new address, fanbox@ladodgers.com. Next in my agenda: send a couple of emails. Go Dodgers!

Dodgers were robbed at Milwaukee

With the bases loaded and one out in the 10th inning, Ryan Braun hit a shallow flyball.  Kemp could have thrown the baseball better as it bounced twice. BUT

Nyjer Morgan was out.

Guerrier took the loss.  Kameron Loes earns the  win.

Dodgers now need to avoid the sweep.   Early game tomorrow at 10:10 AM Pacific Time.  Aaron Harang goes for the Dodgers against Ex Dodger Randy Wolf.   I hope the Dodgers play better against the Brewers.

Dodgers then head to Houston for the weekend.

The next Dodger homestand brings the Atlanta Braves and the Washington Nationals.   Tuesday 4/24 will be

Sleeved Blanket night.  Javy Guerra doing the commercial.

Saturday 4/28 will be Don Drysdale and Maury Wills bobblehead.

Sunday 4/29 will be Kids Clayton Kershaw replica jersey.  Wish I could get one.  I could get into the XL.

Ran into this billboard close to my house, one of many Dodger billboards this year with Dodgers celebrating 50 years.

I kept getting texts that I was on TV.

My cousin Edgar’s wife Jeannie tagged me on this picture that she took of the TV screen

Magic was at Opening Day in San Diego along with Frank McCourt & his GF.  This picture taken by my friend Lorena (LuvtheDodgers23).   Notice Frank’s GF eyeing Matt Kemp

I was having a hard time with my camera.  Jon SooHoo of Dodgersphotog.mlblogs.com told me I bounced the camera too many times.  Actually it started working better after I had him look at it.   Still, I did not take good pictures from afar but luckly my friend Lorena  did so I am sharing  her pictures:

Opening Day at Petco.  Second time Lorena and I go to Petco Park Opening Day against the Dodgers.  First time was in 2009.

SkinnySwag!   Dee Gordon.  I saw him after the game and I told him I have him in my fantasy Baseball team.  He said “I am not doing too well”   I said that is OK, to early.  Lorena pointed to her heart and said “We Love you!”   The following day I saw him again after the game and he had done so good that I stopped him and excitedly I told  him “You did great today Dee!”  He in turned gave me a hug and told me “Thank you ma’am”   that so cute of him.

Clayton Kershaw was fighting the stomach flu but he insisted to Mattingly that he still wanted to pitch on Opening Day.  He could only go three innings because of the stomach flu.    He also collected the first hit for the Dodgers with a double.   his ERA:  0.00 and his batting average:  1.000.

Because of the day off today, Kershaw is starting the Home Openner tomorrow afternoon.

Josh Lindblom came in after Kershaw and collected the win.  Javy Guerra got the save.  Thanks Lorena for the pictures.

This picture from Jon Soohoo of Dodger fans making the trip from LA to Petco Park.  This is before Friday’s game.

Lorena and I.  ‘yeah, I did not noticed before that I closed my eyes.

Reaction of Dodger fans after @skinnyswag Dee Gordon terrories the Padres.

Happy Opening Day Eve!  Happy Opening Day Eve!  Happy Opening Day Eve!   Can’t wait to be at Dodger Stadium tomorrow!

Tommy Lasorda giving hitting instructions at Spring Training

Here is a short video I shot of Tommy Lasorda dressed in his batting practice jersey giving instructions to the minor leaguers on how to hit. 🙂   “You got an ax in your hand”  “you are chopping the tree down”  “como esta la republica?”

Happy St Patrick’s Day

Happy ST Patrick Day everyone!  We are in Arizona.  Going to the first game at Talking Stick for the Dodger game  against Colorado.  Then is back to Camelback Ranch for the game against the hated Jints.  I am wearing my green jersey.  Lost my phone.  So fricking mad at myself but “que se la hacer”  what can you do?  I’ll just try to enjoy the rest of trip.
