The day that Dodgers Pitchers and Catchers report is finally here! WOOHOO!!
Dodgers photographer and owner of the MLB blog http://dodgersphotog.mlblogs.com/ Jon SooHoo posted this picture from Camelback Ranch two years ago with the caption “What awaits the Dodgers at the end of the rainbow this season?” That applies even more now.
Here is a picture from 2004 P&C at Vero Beach. Greg Miller, Tom Martin, Hong-chih Kuo, and Kaz Isshi. Good luck in Seattle Kuo. We will miss you.
In addition to being P&C Day today is Marty Gras or Fat Tuesday. A day to feast before Lent starts. It is also called “Shrove Tuesday” or Pancake Day in the UK. Pancake day because it was a great way to use the foods that were given up for Lent – milk, butter, and eggs.
An English friend suggested I give up Baseball for Lent. My reaction: “WHAT! Are you kidding me!? “No Way” I suggested that he gives up Soccer. I am still working on what I am going to give up. In the meantime.
Dodger News: Dodgers bring back Steve Yeager as catching instructor! Welcome back Boomer!
13 Days till the first Spring Training Game
44 Days till Dodgers Opening Game at Petco Park (A Padre fan at the Kings game asked me why I was going to Petco Park on Opening Day and if I was a Padre fan. I was dressed with my Dodger poncho. lol. He did not know the Padres open against the Dodgers)
49 Days till Dodgers opening Day at Home!
Question: Anyone knows if any team has shown interest on Free Agent Aaron Miles?

Last year I included the story about Joe Pierre that Rhett Bollinger of MLB wrote in this post the Power of a Blog Joe was invited by the Dodgers to join the first ITD tour.
To the right is the cage where Kirk Gibson hit the most dramatic homerun in Dodger history. This image of Kirk Gibson pumping his fist along with Mel Didie’s quote was added afterwards. Kirk Gibson was pleased when he saw it.
I am glad we ran into Manny Mota so that I could tell him what a wonderful job he and Pepe Yniguez are doing on the Spanish TV station. Thank you so much Manny for spending time with us. Muchisimas gracias Manny!
I am taking a picture of the mirror image. Look at the guy with Kershaw’s number 22! I like how that came out. Number 22 by the way is the number I came in at in the latest MLB fan blog ranking! Thank you all that visit my humble blog!
Kuo going by as we were in the batting cage by the Dodger Bullpen
From Last to First. The Dodgers’ win coupled with the San Diego loss took over first place in the National League West for the first time in 2010! . After losing to Colorado on May 8, the Dodgers were in last place, 6.0 games behind the Padres, and have gone 22-7 since!
Kuroda-san pitched his best game against Carpenter but Kuo got the win and Jonathan Broxton the save. Final score: Dodgers 1, Cardinals 0.
Last Saturday my friends and I went to see Ely at an assigned signing at the At&T store in Culver City. We found Ely to be personable and adorable. Here are some pictures:
All about Ely
Ely Signed my scorebook on a scoresheet where he pitched! He looked at it and said “This is Cool!” He was impressed with Lorena who asked him who his favorite pitchers were growing up. I took a picture of Lore and Ely with her camera. Then after my pic with Ely, we were asked if we wanted one with both of us in the picture.
Thank you Ely! Thank you At&T and thank you KABC for the tickets! We sat in the Reserved aisle 7 on Sunday, courtesy of KABC.
Tonight’s game: Clayton Kershaw against Wainwright. This time I will be able to watch the whole game. Yesterday I was working with the Red Cross collecting pledges for the upcoming Annual Blood Drive for Saturday June 19.
This is an annual competition between the Angels and the Dodgers Booster Club. If you donate at this annual Blood drive, you get a voucher for your choice of team tickets, a commemorative t-shirt, a voucher for fish tacos from Wahoo, and a voucher for the Laugh Factory in Pasadena!
DONATE BLOOD! and GO DODGERS!
I don’t like inter-league games but I am glad to see the Tigers for a chance to see Sparky Anderson at the game!
Here is a great picture of Joe Torre, Sparky Anderson and Leyland. pic from Jon Soohoo.
Is too bad the game was part of the game of the week so no Vinny. Maybe Sparky will be back today Sunday when the Dodgers go for the sweep!
You all remember my little broom (size of a pencil_no brooms allowed at Dodger Stadium) that I took to San Diego? Well I am taking to Dodger Stadium today.
Fear the Beard Case Blake had a homerun and so did Matt Kemp. Matt had not hit one out since Ned Colletti’s rant to the media.
Here is Kemp sporting the “In Beard we Trust” tshirt of Casey
Saturday it was Taiwan Day in the “This is My Town” section so it was nice that Hong-Chih Kuo and Fu Te Ni got in the game. The promotion includes Taiwanese food and a t-shirt. The night before it was “Star Wars Day” and it was fun seeing all the characters of Star Wars.
Here is a picture of the section with Taiwanese fans going bonkers seeing Kuo on the mound. Notice the Dodger Stadium Club below which now has outside seating.
In his last four games, he had not given up a walk until Saturday. This kid is not afraid to go after the hitters. He had a shaky first inning Saturday but he settled just fine after that. I wonder why the White Sox included him in the trade with Juan Pierre. Oh and he is also in MLBblog Baseball fantasy team. So another win for the Dodgers and another win for the Locos Azules.
Let’s Go Dodgers!
Going for the sweeep today!
Note: I picked up Edwin Encarnacion after he came back from the DL and he has hit 5 homeruns for me since May 18! WOW! I forgot who dropped him.
Ice Cream Time!
Walter O’Malley had a tradition of treating his staff to ice cream at 2:00 P.M. every day that the Dodgers were in first place. This tradition is still carried over to this day at Dodger Stadium.
Rest in Peace Jose Lima. Sad news of Jose Lima, 37 passing away of a heart attack. I just saw him Friday night at Dodger Stadium. He had started a baseball school here in the LA area. We will never forget “LIMA TIME” Rest in peace Lima.
