Cliff: I wish you were in a separate division!.
Good Luck Manny!
I’ll miss you Manny! You gave us some thrilling moments at Dodger Stadium and on the road. You seem like you maintained a good relation with your teamates and you were always nice with the fans. Yes, you did not want to speak to the Media at the end but I don’t blame you after reading some from the LA Times.
Thanks for taking the time to take a picture with me and asking my brother if the picture came out OK. Good luck with the White Sox! I’ll be rooting for you to do well.
BTW, what a way for Manny to have his last at-bat with the Dodgers! He gets tossed after one swing in the sixth inning coming in as a pinch hitter.
This Dylan reporting on Manny’s last at-bat from Dylan Hernandez of the LA times
In the aftermath of the loss, Torre said he was shocked by Ramirez’s ejection, which took place with the Dodgers trailing, 8-2.
The way Torre later recounted the story, a part of him was startled by how quickly Ramirez was ejected. A part was thinking about whom he would send to hit for Ramirez. And a part was upset at Ramirez, figuring he must have said something vile to home plate umpire Gary Cederstrom to be tossed.
After Ramirez’s replacement, Reed Johnson, grounded into an inning-ending double play, Torre said he went into the clubhouse to scold Ramirez. But Ramirez told him he never cursed at Cederstorm, an account Torre said the umpire later confirmed.
“I was very disappointed in the fact that [Cederstrom] threw him out because he said the pitch was outside and he was ‘demonstrative’ about it, quote, unquote,” Torre said. “What does that mean?”
Torre said he apologized to Ramirez.
Ramirez had nothing to say on the matter
Cederstom: “demonstrative” like in how we Latinos talk with our hands? Please NMB,MLB keep a closer look on umpiring!
note; LOL. meant to say MLB instead of the NMB. I was working on something for the company NMB. .
Thinking Blue while Dodgers play Red Teams.
That was painful getting swept by the Angels. But at least Sunday, I can see some players getting out of their slump like Manny, Raffy and Loney. Now when Kemp, Ethier and the beared one join in, watch out!
This picture was taken by Dodger photographer Jon SooHoo. Thanks Jon for a wonderful shot!
Weaver had to come and bat against Jerred. Jerred in turn came to face Jeff. Originally they were not supposed to face each other but with Monasterios failing to make it passed the 3rd, inning, in came in Jeff Weaver.
Now the Dodgers are on the road to face the Cincinnatti Reds for three and then is off to Boston! Don’t look ahead to the Red Sox boys so play well in Cinci. I’ll see you all in Boston! Go Dodgers!
Honduras faces Chile tomorrow morning at 4:30 AM. Buena suerte Hondurenos!
Three more days till my friends and I head to Boston! I talked to Manny Sunday and told him that I hope he plays well in Boston. He said “Si Dios quiere” “Se lo dejo todo a Dios” “God Willing” “I leave everything to God”
Here are our tickets and the Dodgers polo shirt that we got included in the Dodgerslife event.
Think Blue!
Go Dodgers!
Pictures from the 70’s night at Dodger Stadium
OK I barely had time today to post the pictures from the 70’s night at Dodger Stadium. Lots of pictures for lots of laughs.
Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams. He said “That looks like my hair in the 70’s.
The famous Roberto of Vinscullyismyhomeboy took this picture. Jon Soo Hoo had asked me to pose with his poster. I did not noticed I had buttoned the shirt wrong until an usher in the club level pointed it out to me!
First 2010 Homestand record: 4 wins, 2 losses
I’ll take winning homestand! Dodgers took 2 out of three from the D’backs and from the hated Jints.
The Freak shut out my boys in Blue on Saturday 9 to 0. But we took Friday and Sunday’s game.
Congratulations to Andre on his first grandslam of his career!
Sunday was a great pitching dual between Barry Zito and Clayton Kershaw. Kershaw was losing the game 1-0 when in the 9th inning, Garrett Anderson got an important walk, then Bochy lifted Ziro to go with the percentages. In came Romo to pitch to el Maniaco, who went yard for a walk-off! Final score Dodgers 2, Jints 1.
El Maniaco rounding thrid after his 2-run walk-off.
And Dodger fan Troyfromwestvirginia is back with a new version of “We are the LA Dodgers 2010.” Some of you might remember I posted the 2009 version last year in March. Anothr hilarious video from Troy!
This is My Town ! Dodgertown !
This is so cool! The Dodgers send us an email, you enter your First Name, Last Name and Jersey number.
There I am with my homeboy Andre Ethier. Note that I put Crzblue on this one with #42
And Amaya on this one with Koufax’s number.
WE LOVE IT!!
LOVE IS BLUE!!
Update:
So the transplanted Red Sox fan that sits infront of me at work sent me the following IM after I sent him a picture that Manny had already reported to Spring Training:
“You win, dam it, why isnt manny being manny.” LOL!
Dodgers Damaged Goods… Spring Training plans! Get Well Roberto.
Took this picture back in December when we went to Dodger Stadium to do a little Christmas shopping. We thought it was funny finding these two t-shirts in the box.
Spring Training plans this year:
My friend LTD23 and I settled on the dates we will be at Camelback Ranch! We will be there the first weekend in March and the last weekend of March. YIPPY!!! I can’t wait!
We will see our beloved Dodgers against the White Sox on 3/6 and 3/7 and Monday at Scottsdale against the hated Giants. On 3/27, we will see our bums against Seattle at Camelback Ranch and Sunday we will travel to see them against Cincinnati and Monday travel to see them against Cleveland. I hope, I hope I hope I will see Bob Feller!
Get well Roberto.
Just found out that Roberto of from Vin Scully is my Homeboy is battling some health problems. He said he had about 6 blood tranfusions and the doctors don’t know what it is. My thoughs and prayers are wtih you Roberto. Hopefully the doctors will find what is wrong and you can get off the D.L.
How the West was Won or Lost: Dodgers vs Rockies Take two!
My Friday evening started very nice with Tommy Lasorda being honored. Before I went to the field level I ran into Nancy Bea (Dodger organist) and her husband. They are so sweet. I run into them every once in a while in the club level. I have a picture with her from a while back this time I wanted a picture with both of them. \
Here is a picture of the Tommy Lasorda plaque giveaway:
Isn’t this a nice plaque? this one is #5271 of 60K.
The Tommy celebration was wonderful. Lots of filmage of his manager years. There was this film of the Phillie Phanatic making fun of Tommy with a look-like Tommy inflatable doll where the Phllie Phanatic starts beating it up
Lots of players that played for Tommy in attendance like Steve Sax, Leary, Karros, Monday, Landreaux, Charlie Hugh, etc. All were wearing their jerseys.
As everyone knows, Dodgers are still looking for that illusive win. They have lost five in a row for the first time. Manny struck out FOUR TIMES, all with runners in scoring position. Casey Blake, who returned to the lineup also struck out FOUR TIMES.
The Dodgers 3-6 hitters were 0-14 with 9 strickouts. Ouch!
Here is hoping and praying that the Dodger bats wake up from their long long slumber zzz.
Can they do it? Tomorrow will be the best chance with Clayton Kershaw going for the Dodgers. Can Manny bounce back after a miserable week which has seen him go 0/10 with 8 strikeouts including his last six time at bat.
C’mon Keshaw! I want to see that public enemy number pitch working!
Go Dodgers!!!
They may be bums, but they are my bums!! Go Dodgers!!
Wow Manny Wow!
When I left work yesterday on my way to the stadium, I went into my facebook and wrote “I am on my way to Dodger Stadium.” A friend that should know better responded “Manny is not going to play Goofy.”. She should know that Manny or no Manny, I go to the stadium. I have only missed 3 games this year and only because I was out on a business trip.
What a game! What a game! Like Manny said “Wow” You can’t scrip that better. Bases loaded and in comes Manny with the bases loaded. Bang!! first pitch into the area designated as “Mannywood”. I could see my friend Rosa and her daugther Ronny jumping up in down. They have season tickets in the first row of Mannywood next to the Dodgers bullpen.
We were all jumping up and down and the noise was deafening even with the headphones of my radio. This game reminded me of the Back to Back to Back to Back game against the Padres. Like that night, there we were high fiving everyone and reaching even further to high five more fans. Since we sit in the last row, a group congregates in back of us and when Manny comes to bat, well they multiply there!. We love our section and all the rest of the season ticket holders there or those with packaged tickets. We have even gotten to know the friends of the regulars there.
No Game today (Thursday) but as reported by Josh Rawitch in his thread titled “You got to be kidding me” at http://insidethedodgers.mlblogs.com/, Manny was at the stadium on an off day BEFORE 10AM taking batting practice. WOW! That is dedication! What a guy! What a team! What a Team!

Congratulations to Andre Ethier who hit his 20th homerun! and to Billingsley who finally got his #10 win!
The Marlins are in town and a group of my friends from the Metrolink train will be there. For one of them it will be her first trip to a baseball game.
The Chad going for #10 on Manny’s Bobblehead night!
Tonight is Manny’s bobblehead night and as expected the game was declared a sellout a few days back. With Manny being hit on the wrist by Homer Bailey last night, we are not sure if he will play. We were put at ease when it was announced at the stadium that the X-Rays were negative.
Chad Billingsley, chasing that illusive win #10 goes against Bronson Arroyo. . Good luck Billz!
Kiss-Cam and James Loney. Last Saturday when they were showing on the big screen couples kissing, they showed a young woman with a very colorful sign saying “Kiss Me Loney!”. James Loney was not playing that night so when he saw the sign from the dugout, he came out scanning the crowd for the sign and sent a kiss. Of all the Dodger players, I think Loney is the one that is quiet and shy, so it was funny seeing him do that. When he noticed the camera was showing him on the big screen, he smiled embarrased and went and he went back into the dugout laughing. It was funny!. Usually signs are not permitted at Dodger Stadium but every once in a while fans do sneak them in.
Juan Castro and his at bat music. Juan Castro started the other day for Orlando Hudson. When they played his at bat music, you could hear all around the stadium including my friend Lore and I with the typical yells like “AHUA” when hearing a good mariachi. The name of the song is “La Negra” or “Al Son de la Negra” here it is if you want to hear it. coudl not do the youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G-U82PriO0
Casey Blake…Is he Mejicano? When we started hearing the Mexican song “La Negra on Tuesday, my friend Lore and I looked at each other. She said “Is Casey Mexican?”. We even got a text from my brother Vic asking about it. My friend Lore answered “well, he is a Doyer.”.
.Bowling with James Loney and company; Thursday is a day off and is the annual Dodgers bowling event to benefit the Dream Foundation. It is about $850 per person so a little too steep for me, besides I should be on the D.L as i have a bum shoulder. Still I am heading to the game soon.
With the Marlins in town this weekend, the upcoming events are:
Friday night. A tribute to Elvis Night_ Fireworks.
Saturday night.. Hollywood Star Night. with that softball game starting at 5.
Sunday afternoon: Webkinz pet Giveaway for first 15K kids 14 and under.
Oh and a new giveaway has been announced for September 14 against the Pirates: Free Dodger dogs. Not the stuff animal but the ones you eat.
Let’s go Dodgers!!!
Greetings from the Friendly Confines!
It was so cold when I got to Chicago on Wednesday that I bought me a coat. Guess what color? Dodger blue baby! We went to Numero Uno for dinner. Good pizza! We felt guilty after having the pizza so we went to work on the threadmill while watching our Lakers win!
Thursday, after having lunch at the hotel we went to John Hancock observatory. Wow 96th floor! My ears were popping! Beautiful view from there and I loved all the history.
We got to the friendly confines, Wrigley Field in time for BP. Before going in we walked around the park. Take a look at this picture from a local bar:
Too funny using Manny’s name! Z has been suspended for 6 games.
Entering this series, the Cubs and Dodgers franchises have split their 2,024 games against each other!
Two Randy’s on the mound for the first game: lefty Randy Wolf against righty Randy Wells.
I was on the edge on my seat in the 9th inning when the baby bears had the bases loaded with one out. Our closer was not on the mound as he had thrown 36 pitches the day before so Troncoso was on the mound. Tron pitched the 8 & the 9th. Dodgers win 2-1! El Lobo picked the win!
We met Dodger fans from Whittier, CA; The San Fernando valley; and ran into two Dodger Lady fans from the Booster Club! They recognized me from the meetings. I kept score but 😦 I lost my program and not only that, I lost one of my Dodger earrings :-(( but we won the first game!!! :-).
Friday’s matchup: Lefty Ted Lilly against our righty Chad Billinsgley.
