We had a wonderful time at the Ronald Reagan Presidential library. I met up at the library with Lorena, Rosie, George, Anglia and Shelly. It was an enchanted evening. We did not get to see the baseball exhibition as there was a very long line. But It was a good thing we went into the auditorium early to look for seats. There were quite a lot of rows of seats reserved and the place was already filling up when Lore and I got there about an hour and half before Vin was scheduled to talk.
I was glad to see Peter O’Malley and his sister Terry in attendance. Peter got a huge applause when he was introduced. Of course, Vinny got a louder ovation:
Here is the video I found on Youtube. I did get to ask Vin a question. Thanks Anglia for helping me get John’s attention.
I am excited that tonight at the Ronald Reagan Presidental and Foundation Library, I am attending this event:
Reagan Forum with Vin Scully
Wednesday, June 11, 2014
6:00 p.m. lecture
7:00 p.m. dinner
In honor of our Baseball exhibition, we invite you to join us for a Reagan Forum featuring Hall of Fame Broadcaster Vin Scully. Tickets to the event are $48 per person and include dinner following the lecture. The tickets also include tours of Baseball! Celebrating Our Great American Pastime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
This year, Vin Scully is announcing an unprecedented 65th season for the Dodgers organization. Scully calls all Dodger home games and road games in California and Arizona.
When Scully first began broadcasting in 1950, the Dodgers had yet to win a single World Series and were known affectionately as “Dem Bums.” Three years later, at the age of 25, he became the youngest person to ever broadcast a World Series game and in 1955, he had his most memorable moment behind the microphone, as he called the Dodgers’ first and only championship in Brooklyn.
Event is SOLD OUT and the wait list is full.
I am meeting with friends Lorena, Rosie and Anglia. I can’t wait!
