Volunteering at the FanFest and another win for the Dodgers
I chose the table at the end to wait for our assignment to volunteer and I just happened to sit next to my friend Linda! The volunteers around from left to right are fans of:
Dodgers, Mariners(but likes the Dodgers), Linda a Phillie and Dodger fan, Dodger fan (me!), Dodger fan and Angel fan at the end. Way to represent Dodger fans!
That is the only time you would catch me wearing red.
Linda and I are designated hitters so we waited where they would take us.
Our group was given the assignment to stuff the welcome bags in the back and to be a greeter handing out the bags. I was going to greet but when I went to the back room, I noticed they needed help stuffing so there I sat stuffing and stuffing and stuffing..
I had fun with the ladies but I had enough of stuffing.
I took a little break and stopped by to see Rollie Fingers
I put back my volunteer shirt when I spotted this cutout of Andre Ethier!
Then I was back to stufing bags.
At 5, I headed back on the 5 freeway to Blue Heaven on Earth! I got there 30 minutes before game time. The Dodgers rewarded me with a win. It should not have been that close but the score was Dodgers 9, Cubs 7.
Checkout Deuce! The famous “bailarin” little dancer at Dodger Stadium. Deuce is a riot! Here he is doing his dance routine. Everyone knows deuce, including the players.
Busy day today with photo day, game and then a softball charity game that I am thinking of attending at Pepperdine. It is being hosted by Steve Garvey. Lots of players and celebrities will be there.
Hey Ernie Banks was at Dodger Stadium yesterday! I missed taking a picture of him. Maybe he will be back today!
Emma, you rock! Seriously! Rollie Fingers!?!? AND donating your time to FanFest… you always impress and I’m glad you take the time to document it all with pics. Grade A blogger!

Thaks Jeff! I am loving the volunteering. Let’s see what today brings there. Afterwards, I’ll have time to check the FanFest.
Emma,
You are more of a “blue” woman than a “red” woman. That red All-Star Fan Fest volunteer shirt just doesn’t suit you….But then I am so used to that dodger Blue on you.
Sounds like it was a great once in a lifetime experience for you, and you got somephotos of your guy too. Well, the cut-out.
I know you will have more on this great day, I know I would be babbling for weeks, maybe an entire month if I had that great opportunity.
You deserve every second of it.

Rays,
Underneath the red All-Star polo shirt is my Dodger blue t-shirt and I am sportin two Dodger pins. And you and everyone that knows me know I bleed Dodger Blue! One of the paying crew that are like our supervisors saw me come in in my blue and said “there is the Dodger fan.” I told him I was surprised that he remembered me from the orientation. LOL
Thanks RR for always being so nice!
Emma,
Awesome pictures! I agree, the red does look weird on you. I think blue is definitely your color! Glad you had a good time. I like that baseball fans from different teams get the chance to come together and just be baseball fans (you know, instead of Angels fans or Dodger fans). It’s pretty amazing. Did you get any new pins??
Great to see the volunteering at the fan fest going so well, looks like you had some fun too…great that you found an Ethier cut out.. too funny…

Rollie Fingers! Cool! And I definitely had to blink when I saw the pic of you in red. Looks like you’re doing good work and having a ball too.

Did you get to keep the equipment? When I volunteered for the Superbowl a few years ago I had to give everything back. Stunk. Glad you had a good time! I am jealous!!

Lil,
I kept looking for the pinc LA Bum but I could not find it. I finally got rid of a Giant pin I had that was a giveaway at the Phone booth park and got me a Dodger pin in exchange! I also purchased a Union 76 one that I did not have before.
.
Peter,
The Ethier cutout is next to the Pujols. You know we Dodger fans just love Ethier.
.
I was accused of being a trader for showing up with the All-Star hat but it only says MLB All-Star.
.
Oh no! We get to keep the polo shirt, hat and lanyard. I understand we get a pin at the conclusion of our three day volunteering.
I think you look good in red! :O) Nice photos again. I finally saw one of those Mickey Mouses…the Phils one was at the game yesterday. Very cute!

Jenn,
No way! :0) I got pictures of six more baseball mickeys but after the volunteering, walking all over the FanFest, and then in search of more mickeys, my dogs are barking!! But I’ll be ready for the All-Star game tomorrow!
I had a great time volunteering for the FanFest and checking out almost everything there! I did not have time to finish! The Red Sox Mickey was doing his rehab assignment at the FanFest.
wow! I’m glad you had so much fun volunteering and enjoying the fan fest. I hope Angels fans and the people treated you well! They all really worked hard for this all star game to be successful! I’m just jealous that I didn’t get to go 😦 Although I did have fun watching at home 🙂
Congrats to the NL for a great win!! Your Dodgers were very impressive!

I dig Rollie Fingers! I’m a big fan of his. Can’t wait to hear how everything went at the All*Star Game. You must be so tired?!

LOL Mike! I love that kind of stuffing too! Yum!
Aside from how hot it was where we were sitting, we had a wonderful time. The win also helped considerably!
